Maciej Szafraniec
As a "full-stack" product design leader, I've been building products for over 15 years.
These days, Claude Code/Design is my default. And I can work at any level of abstraction.
From user research and documentation, through Figma and front-end code, to storytelling through slides.
I believe product design is a high-leverage, high-impact function — with as much product thinking as design thinking.
It shapes what customers experience, informs leadership decisions, and compounds over time.
In a world where building is getting easier, deciding what and how to build is the differentiator.
For the last 10 years, I've been responsible for teams of people designing and shipping the highest-priority work.
I've set standards, rituals, and provided UX guidance across teams of 40+ designers, and managed teams of up to 9 direct reports.
I've been lucky to grow up alongside multiple industry shifts.
I created my first website in 1999. It was immediately hacked by my classmate.
He called my mom to ask the name of my dog. I have since moved on from dog-themed passwords.
From the introduction of CSS, through RWD, mobile, and SaaS — to AI as a design and build tool.
I believe change is the most natural thing in the universe. And without fail, each new shift still excites me.

My Work
Other Things I Do
I shoot analogue street photography, publishing on the net since 2004.
I made Tab Notes: a minimalist, 100% offline Chrome extension to jot things down.
My writing rite, and code a little.
